The latest version of PC-BSD, Version 8.0 was released on February 22, 2010.

PC-BSD 8.0 Hubble Edition will offer fixes and enhancements to the desktop and system including:

• The addition of the FreeBSD 8.0 install option
• KDE 4.3.5 with a new desktop theme and visual improvements
• nVidia 195.22 drivers for both i386 &AMD64
• Installation logging and error reporting
• Improved USB device support
• nVIDIA drivers now support 3D acceleration and SLI(Scalable Link Interface) on AMD64
• Support for installing and running 32bit PBIs on 64bit Operating Systems, such as Wine
• Life-Preserver utility, allows backup of systems to remote rsync+ssh server.

I’ve been meaning to tell you guys about our new receptionist!! Her name is Jordan, she’s a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders, my favorite football team of all time! She started working for us when our old receptionist Lindsey (Muay Thai fighter) had to leave us We still miss her and wish she could still be with us but you gotta do what you gotta do. I still can’t believe i work with a Raiderette haha.. it’s crazy cause i go to a lot of their games, im a huge fan of them and the team it self so i NEVER thought we’d  have a Raiderette working for us. To tell you the truth, i always thought most cheerleaders were stuck up and maybe that’s because i’ve only really known high school cheerleaders.. but it makes sense, these are the real deal, they are grown ups and know what they’re doing, they arent stuck up at all. Jordan is totally down to earth and im so happy that she’s here! = )

A lot has been going on lately, our new office is about 70% done. We are still waiting on our conference table which we ordered about 3 – 4 months ago I believe. There’s lots of decorations that need to be put up as well. One of my favorites so far is this BSD abstract trio we had custom made for our conference room:

Work has been pretty busy lately, with all my huge stacks of papers to enter it’s pretty hard to get a moment to do anything else besides work and when i finally get home, i dread getting near the computer! I spend 8+ hours a day on it, anything more than that is way too much for me! and that’s why i wanna get a MacBook Pro!! well that’s not why but it would be REALLY nice to have one! Believe it or not, i have NEVER had a computer i can call my own. It makes me feel shitty in a way because everyone and their mothers has one nowadays except for me.. but that is all about to change here pretty soon… I have been looking at MacBooks recently and decided that’s it’s about time for me to get one, the thing is they are ridiculously expensive so now i either have to work OT and save for one or quit buying food LOL.

Anywayz… like i was saying, these past few months have been pretty crazy over here on this side of town, we moved to our new office building at the beginning of October and it has been non-stop work since. Our new office is coming along pretty nicely! We now have two lounge rooms! one has a 55″ tv, leather recliners, wii, ps3, xbox (i think), rockband set and other things. We also have an official break room, official conference room, officical females restroom!! (the males used to always use ours) two males restrooms, a shower, photography room for storage devices, gym (work in progress), huge production facility and more.

Below are some pictures of our production facility from the first week we moved into our new building. I will upload more as soon as i take more, its looking quite busy right now!

I’ve been meaning to post some of the pictures i took at oscon this year but i’ve just been so busy… well, more like lazy and busy at the same time :p Anyway, we had a really good time, i had never attended oscon before, this was my first time and i hear that it was  A LOT bigger than it used to be, it almost seemed like linux world last year minus all the costumes. I was only there for half a day the first day and half the next day. There were less people than i expected but it was still a good show.
